Profile
Ms.Soully Chang is the Chairperson of the Jungli Youth Orchestra (Taiwan), where she has been actively involved in youth music education, orchestra administration, and international cultural exchange.
As Chairperson, she has led the orchestra’s long-term development by organizing annual concerts, educational programs, and international exchange projects. Under her leadership, the orchestra has established partnerships with youth orchestras in Japan, France, Estonia, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates, providing young musicians with valuable opportunities to perform abroad and experience.
Ms. Chang believes that the true value of youth orchestras extend far beyond mere musical education. She is convinced that through ensemble playing, teamwork, stage experience, and international exchange, young people can cultivate lifelong skills—such as a sense of responsibility, collaboration, self-confidence, leadership, and respect for diverse cultures.
At the 2026 Asia Amateur Orchestra Forum, she will take the stage as a representative of Taiwan to showcase the Jungli Youth Orchestra’s initiatives in youth education, talent development, and international collaboration. She also looks forward to strengthening ties with youth orchestras across Asia and expanding the possibilities for future cooperation.
Jungli Youth Orchestra
The Jungli Youth Orchestra (JYO), founded in 2010 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, is a youth orchestra of about 100 members ranging from elementary to university students. It provides continuous musical training outside of school and emphasizes not only musical skills but also responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and intercultural understanding through ensemble practice, concerts, and educational programs.
Since its founding, JYO has actively engaged in international exchange, performing in Japan, South Korea, Australia, Estonia, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. In 2026, the orchestra hosted and later visited the Ponferrada Youth Orchestra of Spain, strengthening cultural ties through music. A key feature of JYO is its intergenerational learning culture, where senior members mentor younger musicians, fostering cooperation and responsibility.
The orchestra also maintains strong connections with the local community through public performances. Looking ahead, JYO aims to deepen collaboration with youth orchestras across Asia, building friendships and mutual understanding beyond borders.
