NPO WFAO held a meeting in March 29-30 2008
in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture
17 Amateur Orchestras representatives from China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan attended the meeting.
They informed the attendants about their activities in their respective countries and then lively discussed WFAO’s participation in the Shanghai International World Fair of 2010.

There were 2 participants from China, 2 from Korea, 2 from Taiwan and 11 from Japan

Contents of the meetings

1. Master Plan for NPO WFAO’s participation in the 2008 Shanghai World Fair

2. Analysis of the best way to promote international exchanges.

NPO WFAO Board of Directors extraordinary meeting and General Assembly in Takamatsu City (Kanagawa Prefecture) from August 1to 3, 2008.

The above will coincide with the National Amateur Orchestra Festival to be held on the same location and during the same period. The invitations as well as attendance conditions will be sent at the beginning of May, 2008. From March 26 to 29, 2009 the Toyota Youth Orchestra Camp will take place in Hamamatsu City (Shizuoka Prefecture)

3. Exchange of information about Amateur Orchestra’s activities in each East Asian country.

4. The 24th Toyota Youth Orchestra Camp. Performance and visit to the Youth Symphony Orchestra and exchange of  information between the leaders of the different groups.

5. Interview with the Toyota Company executives.

Autumn has finally arrived. I hope that you are all well and prospering in your activities. I wish to express my deep gratitude for the generous support you have given to NPO WFAO. We have celebrated our first meeting of the Board of Directors of NPO WFAO in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture between August 1 and 3, 2008. Representatives of six countries also attended the World Amateur Orchestra Federation WFAO Festival. The meetings dealt with the improvement and widening of our activities and the best ways of reaching an ever wider audience、The meeting and the Festival was highlighted by the presence of Her Imperial Majesty Princess Takamado.
