The 52nd Amateur Orchestra Festival in Tokyo, hosted by JAO, was successfully held, with participants from around the world, including 10 people from Germany (BDLO), 1 person from Beijing, 2 person from Shanghai, 2 people from South Korea, 2 people from Singapore, and 2 people from Taiwan, joining the performances.
The NPO-WFAO (World Federation of Amateur Orchestras) participated in a public lecture in collaboration with the certified NPO "KnK" (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi, Children Without Borders).
The "40th Toyota Youth Orchestra Camp" was held in Matsue-city, Shimane, Japan. This milestone concert, the first in six years, included 12 international participants, featuring members from Belgium for the first time.
The 51th festival was held in Akita-city, located in the Tohoku region of Japan. This year, the festival welcomed participants from Singapore (2), Korea (2), Shanghai (2), Beijing (2), Taiwan (2), Shanghai (2), and Germany (BDLO) (4).
“World Amateur Orchestra Forum in Shizuoka 2022” was held under the host of NPO-WFAO with the participation of 10 overseas countries on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
The 1st Asian Youth Orchestra Festival (the 23rd JYO Annual Concert) was held. NPO-WFAO supported the festival as a cooperating organization. The festival was attended by mainly youth musicians from Singapore, Korea, and other Asian countries, and 22 musicians from Japan gathered in Taiwan. The concert featured Akihiro Miura, concertmaster of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, as guest concertmaster and was a great success. The concert was an excellent opportunity for Asian youths to deepen their bonds and understanding through music.
